Easter weekend in Austin

Better late than never. . .

Our Easter day dinner with grad student friends (next to Matthew, Matt O'Brien, then Kody and Dee Cooper, and then Kevin Stuart is by Jackson) -
I am so immensely proud of how the lamb cake turned out this year. Do you like how it looks like I'm trying to sell it on Ebay?

Thanks to my mom for the boys' Easter clothes!

Baby Shower

Hi Fam,

The graduate students in the Theater Dept. hosted a baby shower for us yesterday! It was a joint couple's shower; our friends Ellen and Patrick Emery are also expecting (Ellen is in D's program). Grant and Courtney Williams, whom we like a bunch and not just cause they throw us parties, hosted it and Courtney did wonderfully creative things, like a diaper cake (below). How Mad Hatter Tea Party is that?! I love it. I'm going to display it in the nursery, as soon as that room becomes a nursery (June/July 09). Courtney also made boo-boo bunnies out of pink washcloths (see it by the cake?)

Cute Courtney with her son Aiden (beneath very fun onesies which were part of our gift):

We left with tiny outfits and sweet things from our generous friends.

We miss you--

Belated Easter

Our Easter weekend was a little bit hectic with dr.'s appointments, etc.  I was able to get a couple shots of the kids to share.  Since Will has begun crawling in earnest, he is sleeping harder (yay!).  He also like to play with his hair as he's falling asleep.  (He's been doing this practically since birth.)

While Josh and I were at the dr.'s office, Benjamin went with the Lamars' on an Easter egg hunt.  He was eagerly awaiting their arrival in this shot.  He came back bouncing off the walls from extreme sugar consumption.

We are all okay here.  I started my medication on Saturday, but had an adverse reaction to it.  I discontinued it and have another appointment with the cardiologist on Wednesday.  Upon further research, my reaction may not have been as serious as it felt.  So I may be continuing with this medication or starting something different.  It's trial and error here...

Dressing themselves

This is what happens when I let the boys dress themselves. . . Jackson emerges from his room with this busy combination (you can't see the plaid shorts real well here), and Harry (whom I've dressed in shorts and shirt) gathers the rest of his outfit, in this case a star "sheriff" pin, a cape, his trusty steed, and this winter green hat that used to be Cody's, and even though the weather is predicted to be in the 90s today, he'll wear it all day (he slept in it the other night).

Have a blessed Maundy Thursday,
Ruthie

Happy Palm Sunday!

Here's a cell phone shot of the palm procession at church - the one I got of just Jackson (you can't see him here) didn't get saved. . .

And while I'm uploading bad cell phone shots, here's one of Jackson (in corner w/hat) reinacting the battle at Concord as a Colonist w/fellow patriot Owen (on the left), fighting a Red Coat (Stockton) at our homeschool co-op:

Matthew and Cody look so different now

Stolen from Patricia Henry's Facebook page. . .

Joshua -

Cody top left, Matthew bottom right -
both pictures taken at Justin Henry's 3rd birthday party. Matthew thinks he was just a few months older than Harry's age now.

Big as a turnip

Jackson was just at his friend Claire Ellen's house and her mom sent me this email - thought it cute enough to share. . .

"Just now, we were looking at CE's body book, at the picture of the baby in the womb. Jackson said, 'That's just what I'm going to have. I have a girl. Big as a turnip.'"

More Emma Lucia! More Emma Lucia! Thinking of y'all constantly. . .
